Using this site means accepting what follows. The first section is the one that matters, and it is the reason the rest exists.

Nothing here is legal advice, and reading it creates no attorney–client relationship with anyone. Firearm law changes without notice, differs between neighbouring places, and turns on facts about you that this site does not know. A verdict here is our reading of the sources shown beside it, not a determination of what is lawful for you at a particular moment.
Check the primary source before you act. Every finding carries its citation for exactly that purpose. If the answer matters, speak to a lawyer licensed where you are standing.
what “nothing here stops you” means
It means no bar was found in the layers this site holds data for. It is a statement about our data, not a grant of permission and not a guarantee about your exposure. Layers we have not mapped are named on every answer, and a layer can be mapped and still be missing a rule. The site is built to say so rather than to look complete.
Some facts are drawn from aggregated sources rather than read against the statute, and each one is labelled where it appears. Treat a labelled fact as a lead to verify, not as settled.
no warranty
The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Geometry is derived from geocoded points rather than surveyed, boundaries are approximate, and the site may be unavailable or wrong at any time.
limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator of this site is not liable for any loss, damage, prosecution, penalty or other consequence arising from your use of it or from reliance on anything it says. You carry at your own risk and remain responsible for knowing the law that applies to you.
acceptable use
Use the site for its purpose. Do not attempt to disrupt it, bypass its limits, scrape it at a volume that degrades it for others, or present its output as an official determination by any government body. The underlying map data belongs to OpenStreetMap and its contributors and carries its own licence.
changes
These terms may change. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the version then published.
